Maciej Bodnar (TotalEnergies) zajął 22. miejsce (+3:02), na 34. lokacie (+3:43) sklasyfikowano Kamila Gradka (Bahrain Victorious). Trasa 20. etapu Tour de France Przedostatni etap Tour de France, jazda indywidualna na czas, liczyła blisko 41 kilometrów. Zawodnicy rywalizowali w pofalowanym terenie, na sam koniec zaliczając dwie trudniejsze wspinaczki, Côte de Magès (1,6 km; 4,7%) i Côte de l'Hospitalet (1,5 km; 7,8%). Słoneczna pogoda zapewniła równe warunki rozciągniętej na 5 godzin rywalizacji. Przebieg etapu Czasowcy Grupa najlepszych czasowców startowała zgodnie z porządkiem klasyfikacji generalnej, na początku etapu. Prowadzenie szybko objął Mikkel Bjerg (UAE Team Emirates), który jako pierwszy złamał barierę 51 minut. Jego wynik sprawnie poprawił mistrz świata Filippo Ganna. Kolarz Ineos Grenadiers po 33 kilometrach miał już prawie minutę przewagi nad Duńczykiem i na mecie zapisał wynik 48:41, o 1:41 lepszy od rywala. Do Ganny zbliżyć się zdołał Mattia Cattaneo (Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl), któremu jednak w drugiej części zabrakło sił na przyspieszenie i Włoch trasę przejechał 54 sekundy wolniej do swojego rodaka. Dobrze wypadł Maciej Bodnar (TotalEnergies), który jechał podobnym tempem do Bjerga i na mecie do Duńczyka zapisał stratę 39 sekund. Polak po przejeździe Ganny i Cattaneo spadł na czwarte miejsce. Kamil Gradek (Bahrain Victorious) na trzech pomiarach czasu notował rezultaty pod koniec pierwszej dziesiątki i na mecie do Ganny zapisał stratę 3:01. Polacy nie utrzymali wysokich lokat. Trzeci wynik na mecie zapisał Jan Tratnik (Bahrain Victorious), który jako trzeci kolarz złamał barierę 50 minut i do Ganny stracił tylko 1:06. Jego czas poprawili następnie Brytyjczyk Fred Wright (Bahrain Victorious) i Maximilian Schachmann (Bora-hansgrohe), którzy również zeszli poniżej 50 minut, ale nie na tyle, aby zagrozić Cattaneo i Gannie. Faworyci Gannę na prowadzeniu zmienił dopiero Vout van Aert, ale to nie Belg przewodził na pierwszym punkcie kontrolnym w Aynac (10,6 km), po przejechaniu wszystkich zawodników. Najlepiej rozpoczął Vingegaard, który o 7 sekund wyprzedzał Pogacara, o 8 sekund Van Aerta oraz o 9 sekund Gerainta Thomasa (Ineos Grenadiers). Gorzej szło białej, gdyż odstała na 20 sekund, a najlepszy z "Grenadierów" był trzeci, ze stratą 13 sekund. Ostatni przed metą pomiar w Couzou (32,6 km) Vingegaard przejechał już tylko o niespełna 2 sekundy przed Van Aertem. Thomas zbliżył się na 5 sekund, Pogacar wciąż jechał wolniej, a jego spóźnienie wzrosło do 22 sekund. Ostatni, najbardziej pagórkowaty, odcinek czasówki bardzo słabo wyszedł Thomasowi, który spadł za Pogacara. Trudy całego wyścigu odbiły się również na Vingegaardzie, Duńczyk omal nie upadł na zjeździe i już bez ryzyka dojechał do mety, gdzie przywitała go narzeczona i potomek.
